I learned how to forage for food in Central Park. Last Saturday, I joined a foraging class in Central Park, headed by none other than Wildman Steve Brill. We met up on the corner of 72nd and Central Park West, and the tour started at noon. He started by showing us the gingko tree right at the entrance and continued on to a spice bush, field garlic, a Kentucky coffee tree, and day lily among other things. Overall, it was a very interesting experience and there was so much to learn. I’m definitely signing up for another class, maybe one in the Appalachian Trail.
